our community

Each year McCormacks choose to support an Australian charity, in 2008 we will continue to support:

diabetes australia

Diabetes Australia is a not-for-profit organisation reliant on community support. All funds raised on behalf of the organisation are re-invested into research, health services, provision of self–management products and services, and public awareness. It offers personalised and practical assistance to benefit people with diabetes and their families.

In a nutshell, it exists to minimise the impact of diabetes.

On a monthly basis, McCormacks chooses to donate a portion of our profit to Diabetes Australia to support their important work.

2007 – 2010 e-commerce Plan

What is e-commerce?

Electronic commerce (also referred to as EC, e-commerce or ecommerce) consists primarily of the distributing, buying, selling, marketing, and servicing of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. The information technology industry might see it as an electronic business application aimed at commercial transactions. It can involve electronic funds transfer, supply change management, e-marketing, online marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), automated inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems. It typically uses electronic communications technology such as the internet, extranets, e-mail, e-books, databases, catalogues and mobile phones.

McCormack Employment Services (MES) is committed to maximising the use of electronic systems throughout its business and reducing paper-based operations. As a NSW small business MES supports the attainment of state government e-commerce goals, through the development and implementation of its own e-commerce plan that focuses on:
  • reducing the number of paper-based operations used by the business and replacing them with electronic operations
  • maximising the number of current operations that can be completed through the company website or by electronic means
  • the development and implementation of alternative or improved operations and service offers that are electronically based.
The development of an e-commerce plan has included:
  • e-commerce awareness training for all staff
  • involvement of all staff in the development of the e-commerce plan and the implementation of e-commerce initiatives
  • appointment of a e-commerce project officer who will champion the development of the company website and drive the implementation of e-commerce initiatives
  • re-negotiating McCormacks relationship with its web services provider to fast track the upgrading of the website and schedule and complete a number of e-commerce projects, as finances allow
  • development of company policies to support the use of electronic systems when upgrading existing operations or considering new service offers
