permanent recruitment processes

Deciding to place your permanent vacancy in the hands of an outsider can feel very much like a leap of faith! Do it once however, and you will never look back!

One of the great benefits is that you only pay a placement fee if you take a candidate introduced to you by the agency.  Added to this, you have the peace of mind that the replacement guarantee will kick in if something were to go wrong during the first three months of their employment with you.

We begin every search with a kick-off call to our client. We talk directly to the hiring manager to gain a better understanding of the more subtle aspects of the job. We may also speak with the HR executive to review the process they plan to use if appropriate. The goal is to get the best sense of what kind of candidate will deliver real value to the company as soon as possible and fit the company’s culture.

When you also take into account that we are very experienced in the art of advertisement design and lodgement along with our ability to interview from an objective viewpoint, there is quite a lot of peace of mind to be gained in using our services.

Computer skills, accounts knowledge, spelling and grammar and accuracy assessments are carried out and the results provided.  Thorough in-depth verbal reference checks are conducted and we know how to elicit factual responses.

Then at the end of the day, you make the final decision ensuring your involvement in all critical decision making whilst not wasting your time being involved in the 'leg work' that leads up to those decisions.

our services include the following processes:

  • a position description is developed or discussed
  • terms of business are discussed and signed off on
  • the consultant attends an on site visit with new clients
  • advertisements are designed and lodged onto the McCormack website simultaneously loading also onto seek.com.au and mycareer.com.au & local paper advertisements are lodged when desired by the client (Internet advertisements are included in the placement fee however paper advertisements are at the discretion and cost of the client)
  • applicant screening commences
  • assessments & registration forms are emailed to applicants who meet the essential criteria
  • face to face interviews are conducted using both behavioural based and hypothetical questioning techniques
  • qualifications are sighted and scanned
  • reference checks are conducted verbally and results recorded
  • successful candidates are introduced to the client
  • their information including assessment results, resume and reference check reports are emailed to the client prior to meeting with the candidate/s
  • the consultant carries out a post interview discussion prior to following up with the client to gain feedback
  • required negotiations are handled by the consultant including conveying the offer
  • confirmation in writing is emailed once start dates and commencing salary packages are firmed up
  • a three month replacement guarantee is attached to all permanent placements

"Whilst there are fewer candidates responding to job advertisements it is now even more time consuming to find the right calibre as the investment in advertisement design and lodgement, plus careful assessing of skills and abilities is more important than ever before.  Handing this over to Consultants who earn their living through doing this well means that you can get on with your core tasks, which should bring a cost effective result!."
