It is a fact. We are living longer and staying healthier.
ABS data projections estimate the proportion of Australians over 65 will rise from 14% in 2012 to close to 20% by 2030. Significant enough but those aged over 85 are expected to grow astronomically. In 2012 we had approximately 420,000 Austalians in the 85+ age bracket. By 2045 there will be 1.7 million. This has huge implications for the aged care sector and the need for aged care workers and support staff.
A career in aged care can be an extremely rewarding career. It offers a day in day out opportunity to make a real difference in peoples lives.
The different types of roles required in aged care are many and spread the gamut from front line hands on nursing care through to support services involving housework and food preparation to back office administrative positions.
McCormack Employment Services has a strong link with many aged care providers and we take pride in delivering well qualified and well suited individuals into these extremely important positions within our society.
